How it Works
The Process
My process has been established through years of experience working with clients, companies, and agencies. Though it may vary depending on the project and package purchased, the following are the general steps each project will pass through on it’s way to greatness. And at each stage, you’ll have the opportunity to review the progress and provide feedback into the next stage.

Common Questions
Questions on Web Design
Are there any costs not included in your web design package prices?
Domain names, theme licenses, and paid plugins (WooCommerce extensions, scheduling plugins, etc.) are not included in the listed price.
Do I pay for stock photos used in the website design?
Shake Studio may provide up to eight stock photos in the web design and development. Any photos acquired by Shake Studio for inclusion in your site will remain our property and could be used in multiple sites or separate projects. If you require full ownership of the photography, you will be responsible for purchasing any accompanying licenses.
How long does the process to take?
The web design process can vary based on the scope of the site and your desired involvement in reviews, etc. The average website timeline is 4–6 weeks. The website in a week will be completed in seven days, beginning once an initial consultation has happened and the deposit has been received.
What if I change my mind on which package I’d like?
We’ll be working closely together throughout the process. If you’re choosing add-ons for your Website in a Week package and we decide you could save money by moving to the Essentials, let’s talk about it! Due to the process, you may not downgrade from the Essentials package.
Questions on Website Hosting and Maintenance
My site is hosted through another company. How long does it take to move the site and how much does it cost?
I will migrate your website for free from most hosting providers. Contact aleah@shakewebdesign.com to find out if yours is included. The process will take between 2-3 hours, and can be scheduled for a time of day when your site receives the least amount of traffic.
Are there any costs to running a website not included in your hosting and maintenance package prices?
A domain name (your URL) is an annual cost that is not included in the package. Any paid plugins you’ve chosen to install also often come up for renewal, in order to continue providing support and upgrades to function properly. Other than that, the VPS (Virtual Private Server) and my time work together to provide everything else your site needs to run smoothly.
Can I cancel or upgrade my hosting and maintenance plan?
Yes, you may change or upgrade your plan at any time to include more or less support time. If you’d like to cancel your plan, please keep in mind that you will need to find and purchase hosting on your own in order for your website to continue to be live. You may need support to help migrate your site to your new host provider. I offer site migration for cancellations at a fee of $100.
Questions on Branding and Logo Design
How long should I expect the process to take?
The process will vary based on the number of concepts the package includes, your feedback, your involvement in the review process, etc. In general, a Business Logo package will take 2–3 weeks to complete.
Are there any costs not included in the package price?
Your purchase will provide you with all the files you need to begin using and sharing your logo and promoting your brand. The number of concepts listed with the package is meant as a maximum. If, during the review process, you’d like to see additional concepts, they may be charged at $50 per additional concept request.
General / Payment Questions
When should I expect to pay for my website or other purchase?
Depending on the total cost of the project, a 30 or 50 percent deposit is collected at the start. The remaining amount will be collected once the work is complete.
I’m a new client. Can I have a consultation before making a purchase?
Of course. E-mail hello@shakewebdesign.com to schedule your free consultation. If you decide you’d like to work with me for your next project, you may purchase through the website after our conversation
What if I don’t want to pay through the website?
If you’d prefer to receive an invoice and pay through a checking account that is not attached to your PayPal account, contact me in advance and we can discuss payment plans. Additional options include Zelle Pay, Venmo, bank transfer, and check.
Can I get a refund?
The time that goes into the packages and the intellectual property that exists as a result of this time and collaboration are non-refundable. I strive to make all my clients 100% satisfied and if something is not progressing as you expect or wish, I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible. See the full Terms of Service here.
